Carrie McBreen M.S. CCC-SLP (she/her/hers)

​

Carrie is an experienced and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist with over 28 years of experience.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in 1993 and her Master of Science in 1995 in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Carrie began her career as a medical Speech-Language Pathologist in a large Chicagoland acute care hospital and University Clinic. She also participated in multiple research projects/clinical trials in the area of swallowing, contributed to multiple published articles, supervised graduate students and clinical fellows, provided classroom teaching to graduate students and taught several continuing education courses for professionals in the field.

Throughout her career, Carrie developed a passion for the treatment of voice disorders and providing gender affirming voice training. She also found a specialized interest in Parkinson's disease related communication and swallowing disorders while proudly serving the Veteran population for years. 

 

Carrie was born and raised in Wisconsin but has called Chicago her home for the past 25 years.  In her free time, Carrie enjoys spending time with her two children, practicing yoga, exploring the restaurant scene of Chicago and walking her dog.
